about

This six-song “Black America Vol. 1” EP features six covers that were recorded right after the initial recording of the “…Goes SKA!” LP, just to keep things fun and interesting during the somewhat tedious mixing/mastering process. Of course, six songs can’t even begin to scratch the surface in terms of paying tribute to exceptional and influential African American musicians, hence the “Vol. 1” tag. L.L. will assuredly get around to knocking out a "Vol. 2" one of these days, but until then the artists to whom he's tipping his cap this time around are Gil Scott-Heron, Art Ensemble of Chicago, John Coltrane, Rufus Thomas, Bad Brains, & Jimi Hendrix.
